I started off 3D printing when I was 8th grade and my first printer was a Makerbot Replicator 2.(https://www.makerbot.com) To start off this was a pretty user friendly printer, the only problem was that it was severely out dated. There was no heated bed or open source firmware, the parts were very expensive and all round not worth
the trouble.

My next printer really launched me into 3D printing and it was the Ender 3 pro. (https://www.creality3d.shop/products/creality3d-ender-3-pro-high-precision-3d-printer)This printer had everything the Makerbot didn’t, an open source firmware heated bed easy maintenance and cheap upgrades. I can’t count the number of hours logged on this printer. The only downsides to this spectacular printer is the Bowden tube setup is pretty straight forward but not the best, and for me was getting too small. So in comes the next contender of my 3D printing journey, the Sovol SV01.

The Sovol SV01 (https://sovol3d.com/products/sovol-sv01-direct-drive-extrusion-3d-printers) This printer is my most recent one and I’m still learning about and testing it, it is much like the Familiar Ender 3 frame but bigger and better. It comes with a direct drive extruded, larger build volume, filament runnout detection(I often don’t use but it’s there) and pre configured Marlin 2.0 on Sovol’s website. This printer is my favorite to print on these days because it presents new challenges and problems. I have yet to find any real cons about it but I’m still looking. Thats all my 3D printers, good luck printing.
