Good morning to all the lovely Do3D forum members. I'm Fuzzy, and I recently preordered the Buzz Lightyear armor. Without seeing the files, since they haven't been released yet, there isn't much preplanning I can do, but there are a couple things. one of the things I plan to incorporate into my build will be a fan system that blows air from the back of the "dome" to act as a defogger and to circulate fresh air when the dome is closed. I got this idea from one of the recent tested videos about building space suits. I plan to have the fans turn on when the dome closes by activating a rocker switch. I also plan to look into installing an intercom system into the suit so that when the dome is closed people can still hear me, and I can still hear them. the only other plans I have so far are to use neon paints for sections that aren't white, black, or grey. it'll be fun to walk into somewhere that has black lights and glow. there are a couple other ideas I have for temperature control while in the suit, but nothing concrete enough to mention yet. what are some of the plans you other members have for your Buzz Lightyear armors?

so I've made a little progress on Buzz, I've printed one glove off, and have figured some things out. the glove pieces are sized fairly large, so they should all be resized down some. another person I came across on instagram, Anim82r, is also printing Buzz. he suggested scaling the parts down to 80%, and that is advice I think I'm going to listen to when I go to do the full on print. the wrist is sized just great, though I did have to put a flat spot on the base of it to get it to sit on the build plate without worrying about it sticking. in other build news, I bought 10 Rolls of pla to build on Buzz with, I bought the filament from AmericanFilament.us and hopefully i'll get a good bit of the armor from these rolls. I hope to get the arms, chest, and back at least.
did a digital test fit tonight, and it looks like most of the parts will fit me without having to be resized. I did have to make the cod piece a little wider, and depending on what my body shape looks like after the girdle I ordered comes in, I may have to do some resizing on the abb section too, but we'll see. i have pieces for the left glove printing right now, and will hopefully have both gloves and wrists printed this week. I've got the majority of the left arm cut up for printing, and the left forearm sliced and ready to print. I'm looking forward to seeing what all I will have to add in to the pieced to join them together, I'm already figuring magnets in the wrist rings to connect to the forearms.
well, I've been looking at the files, and I'll probably quarter the dome in mesh mixer, and then print it. then once the pieces are all printed and welded together, I'll look at making a mold of the dome and ether slush cast it, or try to vacuform it. the biggest thing I'm considering at the moment is if I want to try to convert the dome and neck ring so that the dome will actually open since the version that was sent out doesn't have an opening dome. there are a few other things to consider, such as how I'm going to hold everything together, how I'm going to do the pieces that should be flexible. right now I'm thinking I'll ether print those in tpu, or just use some patterned spandex in the knees and elbows.
