I'm thinking about printing the Doc Ock arms available on do3d for cosplay but I'm worried the weight of the extended arms will exceed the strength of the plastic. Has anyone tried this print or have a feel for how well it would work?

It depends on the type of plastic you're using and the internal structure of the print. For something like this, I'd recommend using a strong filament like PETG or even reinforced PLA, and ensuring your print settings optimize for strength, like higher infill percentages. You might also consider adding metal rods or other reinforcements within the print to handle the load of the extended arms better. It's similar to how an affordable heating and cooling system works efficiently when it’s well-structured and reinforced for the load.

Before starting printing, it may be useful to test a smaller section or prototype to measure the strength and make the necessary adjustments before starting full printing. Keep in mind that the weight distribution, size and material used will play important roles in determining the strength of the arms. Taking precautions and getting advice from experienced people in the cosplay and 3D printing communities can be extremely beneficial. https://retrobowlfriv.com/
Doctor Octopus, a classic Spider-Man villain, is known for his iconic mechanical appendages, often referred to as "tentacles" or "tentacle arms." These undertale yellow powerful robotic arms are fused to his body and provide enhanced strength, agility, and the ability to manipulate objects from a distance.
Using platforms like do3d for cosplay designs ensures quality and accuracy in the final product. It's wonderful to see attention to detail in selecting the right source for the project

I am not sure if it is because of the quality of the paper or the drift hunters size of the print, but it seems to be not as high quality as I thought it would be.
Hello,
Looks like a stackable gooseneck that comes with a bracket could be a good solution for you.
