Using Mesh Mixer, since the files are very customizeable from Do3sD (never ran into that problem) When I go to plane cut complex models i.e Batman Tactical or Coldheart chest piece for example, when I hit separate shells I end up with more than just two halves, lets say 16 objects (because of screws and such). My question is with Meshmixer do I have to combine all the objects back to form the two halves? If so, do I use combine, or Boolean Union? Or is there a different way to do this all together?

Autodesk Netfabb is the software we recommend for the boolean union or subtraction functions. Although meshmixer is 100% free, Netfabb can handle the job much better. There is a 30 day FREE trial is available at https://www.autodesk.com/products/netfabb/free-trial. If you are a student, the software is complete free at https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/netfabb-premium.
