I am currently building the 10 rings.
I had already started printing the solid rings on my Saturn (ABS like resin) when Do3d released the hollow version for LEDs....nonetheless I figured I would use this one as a paint test.
I painted the ring copper and then Alclad chrome for the center ring.
I clear coated using a Satin as I didn't want the rings to be too shiny as they are meant to be 'aged'.
The ring has a nice 'metallic' look without being too bright and reflective.
Everything was given a weathering pass in oil paints.
From there I applied Invisible UV ink. Completely undetectable when dry, but under UV light it glows beautifully. I really like this effect as its extremely simple to use and really quite stunning.
I am thinking I will do 5 rings like this (Wenwu version) and 5 rings with LEDs (Shang Chi version) If you want to see more of my work you can follow me @PrototypeProps on instagram

Smart to use your solid Slither version as a paint/weathering test bed, especially since it won't need to house electronics.
That sounds awesome! The copper and Alclad chrome combo must give the ring a really authentic, worn-metal vibe. Using satin clear coat was a smart move too — it totally makes sense if you're going for that aged, battle-worn look instead of something super polished.

I’ve seen some people using similar techniques on prop builds over on platforms like bully168 (different topic, but still super detailed work), and it’s always cool seeing how much depth weathering and finishing can add.
