#Giveaway2 Anycubic Mega Zero

Currently printing with the Anycubic Mega Zero and using hatchbox 1.75 PLA right now with Cura 4.5 slicer. I would recommend the Mega Zero for beginners and if your looking to add an extra printer that produces quality prints without breaking the bank. Has a good volume build plate of 220 x 220 x 250 and at .1 the detail is really good for such a small FDM printer and doesn't take up much space or make much noise during prints. I have only been printing for a couple months and really enjoying it and would love to upgrade to a better printer when possible.

Building my foundation of skills so that I can learn how to design and print functional parts and some of the projects here on do3d! So far I've been having a good time being frustrated at learning how to make my final prints better and better. Making smaller items like cup holders, organizers, clips, and toys filament goes pretty fast and being out of work from the whole C19 bombarding the world this printer and a couple spools of filament is what I can afford right now.

Pros:

  • Great for beginners as it is compact in size and doesn't take up much space roughly about 19" W x 16" L x 23" H

  • Good build plate size: 220mm x 220mm x 250mm

  • Ability to resume prints from power outage or if the printer for some reason turns of

  • Rigid double gear extruder, had to actually lighten up the compression as the torque was almost too strong with projects with lots of retractions

  • Easy and fun assembly took me about an hour to build and cost effective below $200 shipped (paid $180) as I am out of work right now I am not able to afford more expensive printers

  • Fast response for support from the anycubic team

Cons:

  • Non-heated bed is really frustrating to work with. Even though i'm printing mainly in PLA I have to use painters tape, a glue stick, hairspray or a combination of all of the above to get prints to stick.

  • With longer prints (20+ hours the menu screen started to glitch out and unable to view) and a simple turn off/on clears this up but unable to adjust anything mid print

  • Side vent fan is hard if not almost impossible to run at below 25% if it does I have had to manually spin the fan to get going
