Me and my Makerbot 2x
Hello my name is Jeferson Torres i live in colombia in a city called duitama near Bogota i am cosplayer armor made of foam like master chief batman beyond marcus fenix weapons among other things I discovered that with 3d printing I could complement everything I do so I decided to buy a second hand printer a makerbot 2x is a closed plug and play experimental printer to use more than anything with abs with double extrusion to use 2 filaments at the same time its bed is heated from 24.6 X 15.2 X 15.5 CM for construction with a resolution of layers 100 micron. It is an excellent printer despite being second, I still had to make some modifications such as some broken pieces but they are still printed directly using thingiverse and if one extruder fails the other can be used independently, the software it uses is makerbot desktop It is easy to use and very intuitive. The only thing I do not like is that the files are not open source, they are .thing or .x3g, apart from this it is an excellent application. Most of the pieces that I print are action figures. I print them and my wife paints them to give the best finish. I have not even tried to make armor since the printing area is very small.
