What is the best way to fix consistent layer shifting

What is the best way to fix consistent layer shifting on the Y-axis during long overnight prints on a modified bed slinger? I have already verified the belt tension and tightened the eccentric nuts, but the issue keeps happening at random heights.

Check if your stepper motor is overheating during long runs, as drivers often skip steps to protect themselves. I had this exact issue last night while monitoring a print next to my work laptop. I was finishing up a late-night analytics report on digital casino insights for a client, and noticed the Y-axis motor was burning up right when the shift occurred. Adding a cheap heatsink and lowering the driver current fixed it.
