Anyone else stuck with perfectly good but ancient linear actuators?
Hey everyone, my workshop linear actuators are mechanically bulletproof but feel prehistoric - no programmability, no feedback, zero efficiency. Full replacement is pricey, so I’m leaning toward retrofitting. Has anyone actually done this without regrets? What worked, what bit you in the ass?

Oh man, I feel you - same boat last year. The mechanics were fine, it was just everything else that sucked. Turns out you can keep 90 % of your existing frame and just swap the brains and muscles. Cost me less than half of new gear, gained speed, positioning accuracy, and even app control. Measure your stroke, force, and mounting twice - seriously. One wrong spec and you’re returning heavy boxes.
