Anyone else stuck with perfectly good but ancient linear actuators?

Hey everyone, my workshop linear actuators are mechanically bulletproof but feel prehistoric - no programmability, no feedback, zero efficiency. Full replacement is pricey, so I’m leaning toward retrofitting. Has anyone actually done this without regrets? What worked, what bit you in the ass?

Oh man, I feel you - same boat last year. The mechanics were fine, it was just everything else that sucked. Turns out you can keep 90 % of your existing frame and just swap the brains and muscles. For instance, upgrading automation systems https://www.progressiveautomations.com/en-eu/collections/retrofit gave me exactly the drop-in kits I needed. Cost me less than half of new gear, gained speed, positioning accuracy, and even app control. Measure your stroke, force, and mounting twice - seriously. One wrong spec and you’re returning heavy boxes.
