FAQ: What are the little dots/holes on Do3D's armor files?
Question: What purpose do the small holes on the aligning lips that can be found on Do3D's armor files serve?
Answer: The holes are designed for 2 mm by 6 mm flat screws. However, the best method to join them is by using a hot knife to melt the lip and fuse them together. Alternatively, a plastic welder can be used. We included these 2 mm holes as an option if you prefer not to permanently weld the pieces together.
For instance, you can apply liquid nail to your 3D prints as an adhesive. While it takes time to dry, reinforcing it with small screws will hold it until it fully dries. Therefore, these holes offer an alternative besides melting.
Even if you choose not to use liquid nail, super glue, or cyanoacrylate glue, the holes can still be useful. They serve as guidelines to align the pieces, indicating how they should fit together.
Thank you.
